Therapeutic Modalities
- Electric Stimulation:
Electric Stimulation is used at Wolfe Chiropractic Center to help
relieve pain, accelerate the healing process and help reduce stress
It is typically done over tissue that has been damaged or is in
spasm and is a vital tool in proper management of soft tissue
injuries.
- Intersegmental Spinal Traction:
Intersegmental spinal traction is an excellent therapy for many
types of disorders. At Wolfe Chiropractic Center, this form of
therapy is customized to each individual with regards to depth of
treatment, area of treatment and time of treatment. Every case is
different and having a therapy that can be customized to the
patient’s needs is a great advantage that Wolfe Chiropractic Center
has. This very relaxing therapy is geared towards relaxing the
muscles surrounding the spine. By relaxing these muscles this
therapy is very successful at reducing
pain and encouraging overall
better health for the muscles of the entire back.
- Active Release Technique:
Active Release Technique (ART) was developed by the Chiropractor for
the Denver Broncos and is a soft tissue management system that helps
to quickly and effectively treat trigger points found in muscles. A
trigger point is when a specific area of a muscle goes into a mild
to severe spasm. ART is used everyday at Wolfe Chiropractic Center
to help release a muscle of its tension so that a patient’s joint
will adjust easier and will hold in place longer.
- Myofascial Release:
Myofascial Release is another soft tissue management system done at
Wolfe Chiropractic Center that is excellent at addressing adhesions
that can occur in the tissue in between muscles and organs. A
person’s fascia is a very thin, lubricating tissue the encompasses
all of our organs and tissues and is responsible for allowing
tissues to slide by on another as they work instead of adhering to
one another. When they adhere to one another scar tissue can form
and cause major problems and pain to any individual. Myofascial
Release is a very effective, pain free way to help release these
adhesions so that tissue can move freely and without incumberment.
- Ice/Heat:
Ice/Heat therapies work well with electric stimulation or on their
own and is a great adjunct to chiropractic care. Typically a therapy
of ice is prescribed on patients with acute injuries to help slow
down any inflammation that may be occurring. This is typically done
in the first week of care. Heat therapies are also used as a
continuation of care from ice and as an initial form of care in
patient’s with more chronic conditions. Heat has the opposite
effects of ice and both have been proven as effective therapies in
the acceleration of repair to injured tissue.
